$500 P. L. Titus Scholarship
The P. L. Titus Scholarship is an annual award given to a student if the
student wins our E. M. Koeppel Short Fiction Contest. The winner, if a student,
will receive the $500 P. L. Titus Scholarship plus the full $1,100 prize money.
If the student is an editor's choice recipient, he or she will receive a $50
scholarship plus the editors' choice prize money.
Proof of college, university,
or school enrollment at the time the student submitted the story is required
for the student to be eligible for this award. If the student wins this award, he or she must prove such enrollment. Proof may be a copy of a transcript or a letter from a registrar or school official on the appropriate letterhead. Please don't send proof of your educational enrollment unless you are a winner in our contest and we request it.
The P.L. Titus Scholarship and the Editors' Choice Scholarship winners are free to use their award money any way the winners choose.
The P. L. Titus Scholarship originated as a graduation gift to Titus, an honor
graduate of a major university who completed a novel while excelling as an
engineering student.
The P. L. Titus Scholarship serves as an incentive to students to foster their
writing talent and ambitions as they pursue their learning goals.
The writing guidelines and deadline
for this scholarship are the same as for the E. M. Koeppel Short Fiction
Contest.
